Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Creating technology specifications and ensuring that new technological solutions are crafted for optimal accessibility and utility, while utilizing existing technologies whenever feasible.

• Implementing architectural and engineering principles to design a solution that fulfills operational requirements, including scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, extensibility, flexibility, availability, and manageability.

• Determining the appropriate technologies to adopt based on business requirements, cost, performance, service agreements, and organizational constraints.

• Leading and participating in research and development initiatives (proofs of concept, prototypes) as subject matter experts when integrating new technologies.

• Offering technical expertise to estimate levels of effort (LOE), create work breakdown structures, and plan technical resources for both proposed and ongoing projects.

• Contributing insights to management throughout the project management lifecycle.

• Ensuring that technology solutions are production-ready and align with defined specifications, while also being maintainable through established production support methods and resources.

• Providing technical mentorship and guidance to team members; offering performance feedback to managers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong analytical abilities (proficient in analyzing and documenting business requirements along with corresponding solution specifications).

• Solid understanding of software design methodologies and techniques.

• Experience in BI/DWH maintenance and design.

• Proficient in ETL development and data modeling, ideally across multiple platforms and using various tools.

• Excellent knowledge of databases such as Oracle, MySQL, Teradata, and MS SQL.

• Experience in database development, including stored procedures, triggers, and views.

• Familiarity with the Big Data ecosystem.

• Experience with cloud-based Data Warehousing.

• Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, and T-SQL.

• Strong knowledge of SQL optimization techniques.

• Good understanding of Unix shell scripting.

• Solid grasp of Data Modeling concepts, methodologies, and processes.

• Basic database administration skills.

• Proficiency in both written and spoken English, with additional fluency in German preferred.
