This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

• Develop, sustain, and enhance data systems within an Azure cloud setting.

• Create, construct, and manage scalable ETL/ELT pipelines utilizing Azure Data Factory and associated tools.

• Design and refine data warehouses in Azure Synapse, focusing on dimensional modeling (star schema).

• Establish and execute comprehensive data architecture for contemporary cloud data platforms (Azure, Snowflake).

• Oversee and optimize databases, including performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and monitoring.

• Ensure the quality, integrity, and availability of data through effective cleansing, normalization, and integration.

• Apply data security best practices, encompassing encryption, masking, and access control within Azure.

• Monitor, diagnose, and enhance data pipelines for improved performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to convert business requirements into technical solutions and facilitate data-driven projects.

• Assist in analytics and data science use cases by preparing and transforming data for reporting and modeling.

• Over 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer.

• Proficiency in English at a B2+/C1 level.

• Extensive experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Azure SQL/Databricks.

• Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline design.

• Solid background in data warehousing and dimensional modeling (star schema).

• Proven track record in database administration (DBA): performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and security.

• Experience in designing data architecture within Azure (storage, processing, security).

• Proficient in SQL (essential) and Python for data processing and analysis.

• Familiarity with OLAP, MOLAP, and ROLAP concepts.

• Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.

• Knowledge of Snowflake and modern cloud data ecosystems is an advantage.
