Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of data pipelines and architectures at an enterprise scale.

• Construct and maintain robust ETL processes to ensure high data availability while supporting advanced analytics and business intelligence requirements.

• Work closely with data scientists, analysts, product managers, engineering managers, TPMs, and architects to convert complex business needs into scalable technical solutions.

• Mentor junior engineers, drive technical innovation, and shape enterprise data strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or 8–10 years of professional experience with relevant programming languages.

• 8–10 years of experience in:

• o Data engineering or similar fields

• o Programming languages pertinent to data processing (e.g., Python, Java, Scala, SQL)

• o Developing scalable ETL pipelines and data architectures

• o Engaging with cloud environments and contemporary data platforms

• o Leading junior team members or serving as a technical lead.

• Expert Level: Integration of systems and technologies, Cloud computing architecture, Data architecture.

• Proficient Level: Backend architecture, IT standards, procedures, and policies, PTC (Platform Technology Committee) processes, DevOps practices and tools, Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), Results interpretation, Communication, collaboration, negotiation, and organizational skills, Problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking.

• Competent Level: Information security architecture, Enterprise IT architecture.

• Strong communication skills, with the capability to articulate complex concepts clearly.

• Effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• High analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to mentor, guide, and motivate junior engineers.

• Strategic thinker with a commitment to continuous improvement.

• Confident in decision-making and responsible for technical solutions.

• English - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
