Data Analyst I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical data extraction, management, integration, and advanced analytical support, including methodologies to explore relationships between implementation processes and program outcomes.

• Extract APR and performance measurement data; create structured analytic datasets; standardize and harmonize variables across reporting cycles; maintain documentation for extraction procedures.

• Perform systematic data cleaning and validation; identify missing or inconsistent data; implement reproducible validation scripts; document data quality issues and corrective measures.

• Compile DPRP encounter-level datasets; conduct descriptive and longitudinal analyses; evaluate engagement and outcomes; produce standardized outputs.

• Compile ADA and ADCES datasets; harmonize data elements; perform cross-site comparative analyses; evaluate reach and outcomes.

• Identify relevant national datasets as directed; acquire and integrate secondary datasets; conduct comparative and contextual analyses; document limitations and assumptions; apply analytical methods to assess how implementation factors (such as reach, fidelity, adaptation) impact outcomes.

• Carry out additional duties as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2-3 years of experience in performing qualitative and quantitative data analysis, preferably within the public health sector.

• Proficient understanding of the principles, concepts, methods, and techniques of public health research and evaluation necessary to analyze, evaluate, and provide expert advice and consultation.

• Familiarity with the principles, methods, applications, and cutting-edge technology relevant to the scientific area of responsibility to offer direction and guidance on critical and complex issues.

• Capability to conduct complex analytical studies (both qualitative and quantitative) and interpret results to coordinate program evaluations and recommend enhancements.

• Experience in working with implementation-related measures (such as reach, fidelity, dose, adaptation) and linking these variables to outcomes.

• Proficient in analyzing mixed-methods data (integrating qualitative and quantitative data).

• Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing, to deliver clear and persuasive presentations, explain and justify recommendations, represent the agency and assigned program or project areas, provide guidance, advise program administrators and community members, respond to inquiries, and interact with high-level officials and representatives from public and private public health organizations.

• Knowledge of the rules, procedures, and principles governing intramural and extramural program development, monitoring, and evaluation.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams, and SharePoint) effectively and efficiently.

• Skilled in using and managing CDC Administrative Systems (HUMAN SUBJECTS, OMB AND IRB, and E-Clearance) efficiently and effectively.

• Previous experience with government procedures and guidelines.

• Preferred experience working at CDC or in a public health environment.

• Ability to secure a government clearance.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
