This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Utilize specialized clinical expertise with hospital partners to categorize, code, summarize, interpret, and calculate registry/case information from detailed patient medical records.
• Guarantee the accurate submission of all data into designated registries or measure data repositories, upholding a high standard of accuracy.
• Effectively prioritize, organize, and adhere to strict deadlines for numerous simultaneous tasks and team requests; employ tact and judgment to manage expectations, identify challenges, and propose timely solutions.
• Navigate new technical systems, including electronic medical records (EMR) and registry/case entry tools; leverage team resources to address technical issues with systems and applications, focusing on solutions.
• Contribute to the development of team best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and other business rule documents; pinpoint opportunities for process improvements to optimize tasks and workflows.
• Stay informed about regulatory and publicly reported data requirements as mandated by federal, state, payer, and other agencies.
• Perform any additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Direct experience in data abstraction within the LAAO and/or TVT registry through the ACC/NCDR.
• Familiarity with various patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases.
• Intermediate skill level in MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to systematically address problems.
• Uphold high standards for accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
• Exhibit technical proficiency and a strong eagerness to learn new systems and technologies.
• Excel in independent work and take ownership of projects and patient records.
• Consistently communicate in a clear manner, adapting style and tone as necessary to effectively collaborate with hospital partners, colleagues, team leads, and others.
• Demonstrate strong self-organization and time management skills to manage multiple accounts simultaneously, adjusting as required to shifting timelines and priorities.
• Ability to adapt to changes in timelines, requirements, and project assignments.
• Maintain a high level of responsibility in safeguarding PHI to ensure its security and confidentiality.
