Cybersecurity Incident Management Exercise Facilitator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Conduct in-person cybersecurity tabletop exercises across Iowa

• Facilitate organized discussions with IT staff, municipal leaders, emergency management personnel, school administrators, and elected officials

• Lead participants through plausible cybersecurity incident scenarios

• Ensure participant involvement and foster constructive dialogue during exercises

• Collaborate with project leadership before and after sessions

• Gather participant feedback and assist with post-exercise debriefing activities

• Travel independently to designated locations throughout Iowa

• Represent SSAI in a professional manner during engagements within the public sector

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, education, communications, or a related area, or equivalent professional experience

• At least 3 years of experience in Cybersecurity, IT Operations, Incident Response, Emergency Management, or Technical Training/Facilitation

• Excellent verbal communication and presentation abilities

• Capacity to lead discussions with both technical and non-technical audiences

• Strong organizational capabilities and time management skills

• Willingness to travel throughout Iowa

• Understanding of cybersecurity concepts such as ransomware, phishing, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity

• Experience in facilitating tabletop exercises or training sessions

• Knowledge of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), CISA tabletop exercise guidance, HSEEP, and Cyber Resilience Review (CRR)

• Prior experience supporting local governments, K-12 institutions, or public sector clients

• Cybersecurity certifications or emergency management training are advantageous.

• Preference will be given to candidates based in Iowa
