Cybersecurity Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create secure solutions that integrate cybersecurity, networking, and cloud technologies, aligning client business requirements with effective security architecture.

• Carry out configuration, installation, activation, and maintenance of security products and services.

• Design and implement solutions for complex technical issues, including modifications to client environments.

• Assess and deploy new security tools and technologies.

• Oversee and sustain deployed security, network, and cloud environments to guarantee ongoing operational efficiency.

• Conduct network administration duties, including addressing client trouble tickets and implementing design changes.

• Assist in the analysis of security incidents and support incident response activities.

• Collaborate with SOC Analysts to enhance and refine SIEM correlation rules and custom detection strategies.

• Utilize platforms and services to collect data, produce reports, and assist clients and other departments with analysis.

• Take part in the successful execution of small to medium-sized projects.

• Interact with clients regarding the ongoing performance and operation of networks, systems, and services.

• Mentor and nurture junior engineers by providing guidance and constructive feedback.

• Work in partnership with various teams and departments to address security issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in cybersecurity, network administration, or systems administration, with a portion of that time in a hands-on engineering role.

• Established experience in designing, implementing, and managing security and/or network technologies in a production setting.

• Familiarity with common security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IPS/IDS, SIEM, EDR/MDR).

• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (M365, Azure, AWS, or GCP), including security configuration and identity management.

• Proficiency in scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of managing multiple client priorities in a dynamic managed services environment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document designs and convey technical concepts to clients.

• Preferred: Background in security engineering or architecture, with product expertise in network security solutions such as Fortinet or Sophos.
