This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) in upholding the necessary information assurance framework and preparing for cybersecurity compliance audits, such as FISCAM.
• Contribute to the creation and upkeep of Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and security assessment artifacts.
• Aid in validating security controls for systems, applications, and cloud-based services.
• Support ongoing monitoring efforts and compliance reporting for security measures.
• Examine vulnerability scan outcomes, monitor remediation efforts, and assist in planning corrective actions.
• Evaluate threats and apply best practice methodologies for incident detection, reporting, and vulnerability remediation.
• Assist in enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
• Maintain the operational security posture of information systems.
• Support change management for security-critical software, hardware, and firmware.
• Collaborate closely with cybersecurity, engineering, and government stakeholders to maintain security documentation, oversee system compliance, and support ongoing security assessments and audits.
• Must possess or be willing to quickly obtain a Security+ certification.
• Must hold an active Secret clearance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Familiarity with DoD RMF, NIST SP 800-53, or related cybersecurity compliance frameworks is required.
• Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, network security, operating systems, encryption, authentication, and common security tools is essential.
• Experience in supporting daily cybersecurity operations within enterprise IT environments.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with a capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related academic discipline is necessary.
• At least 1 year of experience in cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or similar roles.
• Must successfully pass a drug test and background screening.
• Preferred: Practical understanding of the vulnerability management lifecycle.
• Preferred: Experience with ACAS, Tenable, or similar vulnerability management tools.
• Preferred: Familiarity with eMASS or other RMF documentation management tools.
• Preferred: Experience aiding FISCAM, FIAR, or other Federal audit activities.
• Preferred: Experience supporting DoD or U.S. Air Force systems.
