Cyber Security Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Assist in monitoring alerts and logging to identify possible threats.

• Support the collection and analysis of threat intelligence to help detect new cyber risks.

• Engage in incident triage and response activities, including the collection and documentation of evidence.

• Aid in vulnerability scanning, reporting, and tracking remediation across enterprise systems.

• Investigate the application of generative AI tools for cyber defense, automation, documentation enhancement, or workflow improvements.

• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and assist with updates to documentation and processes.

• Help with system hardening, patch validation, account reviews, and gathering artifacts related to CMMC.

• Get involved in cross-departmental projects and initiatives aimed at process improvement as opportunities arise.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fundamental knowledge of networking, security principles, and operating systems.

• A strong sense of curiosity and a desire to learn.

• Interest in cyber defense, AI-assisted security, and the evolving threat landscape.

• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell is a plus.

• Currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
