This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Assist in the development and management of security operations and data protection in alignment with the NIST Cyber Security Framework, NIST 800-53, and CIS controls.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure and compliance teams to identify, address, and resolve cybersecurity risks and challenges.
• Engage in application security, vulnerability management, system administration, configuration, monitoring, detection, and patch management.
• Provide technical support and administration for both network and cloud-based security tools.
• Support the administration, detection, monitoring, and reporting functions within Cyber Security Operations.
• Participate in incident response, change management, operational support, metrics, and reporting activities.
• Implement incident response plans and coordinate related response efforts.
• Manage Privileged Access Management strategies and technologies.
• Assist in creating cyber security incident response playbooks and maintaining team documentation.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in cybersecurity.
• Proven experience in networking and network security.
• Familiarity with structured security frameworks such as NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, CIS, or ISO 27001.
• Knowledge of network security, vulnerability assessments, security control implementation, and testing procedures.
• Ability to convert security requirements and standards into clear business concepts and vice versa.
• Relevant experience in incident response, detection, containment, and monitoring processes.
• Possession of relevant industry certification, such as Security+.
• Capacity to work independently.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to administer and uphold best practices in security and data protection.
• Understanding of network security, threat intelligence, and network security controls.
• Preferred: recent experience in a similar role, ideally within the financial services sector.
• Preferred: leadership experience in cybersecurity.
• Preferred: familiarity with ticketing systems.
• Preferred: experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR/MDR platforms.
