Cyber Defense Analyst – Night Shift

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Proactively safeguard systems and networks against cyber threats by preventing and mitigating malicious activities.

• Evaluate and investigate network incidents and system irregularities within a SOC (Security Operations Center) setting, utilizing security tools to identify and thwart intrusions.

• Oversee and fine-tune security alerts produced by devices such as SIEM, IPS, and firewalls, adhering to established playbooks for incident triage and escalation.

• Collaborate with Level 2+ analysts in threat research and investigations, applying an inquisitive and analytical mindset.

• Address incidents, service requests, problems, and modifications related to managed solutions.

• Generate analytical reports concerning security events and incidents while aiding in the development and upkeep of KPIs.

• Engage in operational meetings with clients and monitor advancements on new projects.

• Analyze and modify cybersecurity alerts while executing prevention and response measures within your scope of responsibility.

• Participate in decision-making processes for incident triage and alert escalation in line with established security protocols.

• Suggest enhancements to security processes and tools, thereby contributing to the efficiency of SOC operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred higher education in Information Technology or a related field.

• Understanding of computer networks and IT infrastructure, emphasizing information security and cybersecurity.

• Experience in client support utilizing ticketing and incident management systems is preferred.

• Practical knowledge or experience in SOC environments and security tools like SIEM, IPS, and firewalls.

• An analytical and investigative approach to managing security events.

• Preferred knowledge/certifications include CompTIA Security+, ITIL, LPI-I, LPI-II.

• Strong communication skills for engaging in meetings and interacting with clients and teams.

• Ability to create and revise playbooks and analytical reports to support SOC operational tasks.

• Intermediate proficiency in English for reviewing documentation and providing operational assistance.
