Customs Entry Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Preparing, compiling, and managing all necessary documentation and records for the clearance of goods through US customs.

• Engaging with vendors and government agencies while delivering exceptional customer service.

• Completing customs documentation to guarantee accurate and timely importation of shipments.

• Maintaining and updating customs clearance documentation as required.

• Processing all entries in a compliant manner and managing documentation post-sales completion.

• Overseeing and addressing all customer inquiries effectively.

• Conducting research and providing assistance with regulatory inquiries.

• Reviewing and monitoring customs clearances and any rejections.

• Preparing and filing customs forms with meticulous attention to detail.

• Ensuring that freight paperwork is finalized and approved prior to transportation.

• Coordinating with various departments to uphold compliance with all import operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) is required.

• 5-7 years of experience in Custom Entry Writing within the Import/Export industry.

• General understanding of logistics software, including CargoWise.

• Familiarity with the harmonized tariff schedule.

• Advanced knowledge of customs regulations and requirements from all relevant government agencies.

• Capability to read and interpret general business documents.

• Proficiency in writing routine reports and general business correspondence.

• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, along with random drug and/or alcohol tests.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
