Customs and Trade Compliance Specialist II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Assist in implementing the customs and trade compliance program of the company within a regulated medical device environment.

• Support the Customs and Trade Compliance team in executing a standardized and compliant international trade compliance program at Convatec.

• Contribute to operational duties for the customs and trade compliance program in the US / CA (and other markets as required), encompassing both import and export activities.

• Ensure that import and export shipments are in accordance with government regulations by managing inquiries and requests from brokers, forwarders, manufacturing sites, distribution centers, and others, facilitating the compliant movement of Convatec products and equipment.

• Aid in the Temporary Importation Under Bond (TIB) process for goods entering the country temporarily, ensuring compliance with regulations.

• Identify opportunities for process enhancements during the daily resolution of customs and trade compliance-related international transactions.

• Foster continuous improvement and explore opportunities for trade automation.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in international trade compliance regulations and procedures related to import and export.

• Bachelor's degree (equivalent experience may be considered).

• Familiarity with Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification principles, with the capability to support classification activities through research and data management.

• Knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proven ability to analyze and interpret complex problems, utilizing data and information sourced from various avenues.

• Good working knowledge of SAP transactions and reports (preferred).

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
