This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Manage the financial relationship with designated B2B clients, serving as their trusted advisor on matters related to energy accounting and revenue assurance.
• Supervise the production of monthly financial deliverables, which include revenue recognition, gross margin calculations, reconciliations, variance analysis, and controls reporting.
• Assess and critique the analytical work generated by the Customer Financial Assurance team, ensuring that it is accurate, complete, and clear prior to client submission.
• Offer commercial insights into consumption patterns, billing effectiveness, and financial risks, translating technical data into straightforward, actionable recommendations.
• Facilitate client meetings, where you will present financial outcomes, performance commentary, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with operations, billing, data, and product teams to address issues, enhance data quality, and reinforce financial controls.
• Hold line management responsibilities for Customer Financial Assurance Analysts.
• Propel continuous improvement initiatives in financial assurance processes, reporting, and client engagement.
• Strong foundation in finance, accounting, or commercial analysis, preferably within the energy or utilities industry.
• Demonstrated experience in managing client relationships and presenting financial insights to senior stakeholders.
• Capability to interpret complex datasets and articulate findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Strong leadership, influencing, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools; experience with BI platforms is a plus.
• Exceptional diplomacy skills and the ability to navigate multiple considerations in contentious situations.
• Familiarity with the complex dynamics of the energy market, ideally with large supply portfolios.
• Understanding of the nuances of billing platforms and their implementations, as well as how they interact and compare with industry standards.
• In-depth knowledge of industry protocols, including settlement mechanics, data flows, and invoicing of Gross Margin costs.
• Experience in Management Accounting, preferably within both B2C and B2B Energy Supply.
• Ideally CIMA qualified or currently pursuing this qualification.
