This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Develop and implement a culinary arts curriculum that aligns with state standards and CTE pathways.
• Instruct students on food preparation techniques, various cooking methods, nutrition, and kitchen management.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and well-organized kitchen/classroom environment.
• Teach students about food safety and sanitation in accordance with ServSafe or equivalent standards.
• Tailor instruction to accommodate the diverse needs and skill levels of students.
• Evaluate student progress through both practical (hands-on) assessments and written tests.
• Oversee inventory management, equipment, and food ordering while adhering to budget constraints.
• Facilitate career exploration and industry connections, including guest speakers, certifications, and internships.
• Supervise students during laboratory sessions and ensure the proper use of equipment.
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects that integrate math, business, and science concepts.
• Maintain regular communication with students, families, and school personnel.
• Assist with school events or programs related to culinary services as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Education, Hospitality, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Valid teaching certification (or the capability to obtain CTE certification).
• Preference for candidates with professional culinary or food service experience.
• Familiarity with food safety standards and kitchen operations.
• Strong skills in classroom management and organization.
