CTO / VP Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the stability of a system where millions of users post within the same two-minute window daily.

• Manage 12 squads across three codebases, focusing on release discipline, feature flags, platform, and developer experience.

• Oversee infrastructure costs as a P&L line, including GCP, Cloud Spanner, and media delivery at scale.

• Successfully complete our Node.js to Go migration without compromising delivery timelines.

• Recruit outstanding engineers, nurture their development, and maintain high standards.

• Define technical strategy in collaboration with the CEO and product leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of experience in engineering, with at least 6 years leading teams in organizations comprising 80–200+ engineers.

• Proven experience in scaling a high-traffic consumer product or similar high-throughput infrastructure.

• Possess architect-level expertise: engage effectively with staff engineers on distributed-systems trade-offs without the need for a coding test.

• Experience in building regression-prevention systems for multiple teams working in parallel.

• Ability to lead distributed teams through effective writing, metrics, and prompt asynchronous decision-making.

• Preferred: experience in consumer social, camera or media products, and native mobile environments.
