CTE Business & Technology Teacher – Grades 9-12

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Provide engaging Business & Technology Career Exploration and elective course curriculum for students in grades 9-12 within an online setting.

• Deliver instruction, support, and guidance while effectively managing the learning process to cater to individual student requirements.

• Track student progress utilizing Stride K12’s learning management system.

• Collaborate with students and parents to enhance learning and create as well as monitor post-secondary success plans using online resources.

• Offer enriching synchronous and asynchronous educational experiences.

• Tailor learning experiences, differentiate instruction, and enhance course material using approved resources.

• Maintain the grade book and make decisions regarding placement and promotion.

• Notify administrators about any concerns related to student performance and progress.

• Prepare students for critical standardized assessments.

• Build positive relationships with families and ensure timely communication with students and learning coaches/parents.

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting matters.

• Travel as necessary for in-person professional development, student assessments, and school-related needs.

• Implement State, National, and Industry-Specific educational standards.

• Create instructional tools and strategies to enhance the curriculum.

• Collaborate with the school and national professional learning community.

• Promote a project-based learning framework.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Active CTE state teaching certification OR a valid high school grade-level state teaching certification with CTE Validation.

• Must be a resident of Ohio.

• Capability to pass required background checks.

• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.

• Maintain a professional, distraction-free home office environment during work hours, generally from 9-5 or 8-4, or as specified by the school.

• Collaborate effectively with teachers to analyze and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data for instructional decisions.

• Open to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.

• Willingness to embrace change and adapt to ensure outstanding student outcomes.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.

• Travel as needed, averaging once a month and/or up to 25% of the time.

• Preferred: experience working with the specified age group.

• Preferred: experience assisting adults and children with technology.

• Preferred: experience in online/virtual and/or brick-and-mortar teaching environments.

• Preferred: experience with project-based learning methodologies.
