This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Answer a crisis hotline, offering support to individuals affected by suicide, those engaging in self-harm, individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts, and concerned friends or family members.
• Perform risk evaluations, including lethality assessments for individuals at risk of suicide.
• Deliver professional crisis counselling and personal support based on evidence-based practices, utilizing de-escalation and crisis intervention strategies.
• Evaluate the needs of callers and prioritize actions for immediate safety, emergency medical assistance, or suitable referrals.
• Keep precise and comprehensive records of calls, highlighting key issues and referrals made.
• Adhere to the obligations set forth by the Data Protection Acts of 1988, 2003 & 2018 (GDPR).
• Assist in creating suitable crisis management plans for individuals in distress.
• Make prompt, on-the-spot decisions when faced with uncertainty about the next steps.
• 1–3 years of experience working on helplines, in either paid or volunteer roles.
• Completion of training in Crisis Intervention or Suicide Prevention.
• Experience in handling high-risk clinical scenarios related to suicide or crisis situations.
• Necessary insurance as mandated by the candidate's country.
• Capacity to maintain emotional stability in high-pressure situations and recover from stressful encounters and high-risk cases.
• A Master's Degree in Psychology/Counselling or a related discipline is preferred.
• A background in mental health or emergency services is advantageous.
• Proficiency in more than one language is a bonus.
• Professional indemnity insurance is an asset.
