This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Evaluating proposed policy modifications and reporting on advantages, disadvantages, and additional insights to team members.
• Gathering and disseminating data and relevant information to team members in preparation for legislative testimony, briefings, public speaking engagements, events, and media appearances.
• Supporting team members with policy research, which includes investigating and summarizing various aspects of state and federal laws to aid our policy research and implementation initiatives.
• Composing commentary and blog articles for Reason.org and other platforms.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.
• Occasional travel may be necessary.
• An entrepreneurial mindset and a high degree of resourcefulness.
• Outstanding writing and communication abilities, with the capacity to clarify intricate technical concepts to non-experts.
• Familiarity with state legislative processes and practices.
• Awareness of or eagerness to learn about the intricacies of policy with a keen attention to detail.
• Capability to collaborate effectively across the political spectrum with a variety of stakeholders and interests.
• A strong sense of curiosity and self-driven motivation to acquire new knowledge and address challenging issues you may not have encountered before.
