This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.
• Oversee credit underwriting and administration for a diverse and intricate regional portfolio or Specialty Banking product vertical.
• Develop credit frameworks, Borrower Risk Ratings, and Facility Risk Ratings for both new and existing credit relationships.
• Lead a team comprising Market Credit Managers, Senior Portfolio Specialists, Credit Specialists, and Credit Analysts.
• Manage operational risk related to credit in the region while fostering profitable business growth.
• Engage early in deal structuring alongside the Regional Director or Team Lead and Credit Risk Management.
• Champion and promote transactions throughout the approval process.
• Ensure compliance with risk policies, operational risk procedures, and underwriting standards.
• Guarantee prompt and consistent underwriting and closure of new and existing credit relationships.
• Oversee annual reviews, renewals, and compliance evaluations for loan covenants.
• Direct the structuring of commercial loans, pricing models, RAROC, Maestro, and loan reporting systems.
• Balance the needs of business development, loan pricing, and credit risk management.
• Create innovative and competitive solutions tailored to complex customer requirements.
• Monitor changes in macroeconomic conditions, industry trends, and the business environment, establishing action plans as necessary.
• Elevate regional credit concerns to the Regional Director or Team Lead and Credit Risk Management.
• Ensure that staff adhere to TD Bank Group Risk Appetite Principles and relevant regulatory and compliance guidelines.
• Approve loans and annual reviews within the bounds of delegated authority and provide recommendations for other applications.
• Cultivate relationships with business partners throughout the Division and TD Bank, NA.
• Mentor credit management personnel on providing compliant, value-added credit solutions.
• Ensure timely responses to inquiries from regulatory bodies, Audit, and Credit Risk Review.
• A 4-year undergraduate degree is required; an advanced degree in a financial discipline is preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Comprehensive understanding of the real estate sector.
• Familiarity with business development strategies and credit decision-making.
• Exceptional skills in credit underwriting and administration.
• Outstanding ability to identify and mitigate risks.
• Knowledge of value-added credit structuring within a commercial banking context.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong business acumen.
