Credentialing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Execute the credentialing tasks of the department in accordance with established policies and procedures.

• Gather primary source information for organizational facilities and entities.

• Maintain records and uphold the integrity of highly confidential information.

• Carry out thorough and timely credentialing processes.

• Assess credentialing information and perform necessary follow-up actions.

• Collect essential materials and information from physicians, facility staff, professional staff, and the office staff of physicians.

• Input relevant data into the database, ensuring consistency and integrity of the information.

• Process inquiries regarding expired licensure and other regulatory credentialing requirements.

• Keep credentialing documentation properly organized within the database.

• Independently manage assigned responsibilities while exercising judgment on complex and sensitive credentialing matters.

• Address physician inquiries and resolve issues within the role's scope.

• Keep supervisors informed of any issues that arise.

• Set daily work priorities and assist in maintaining the credentialing process.

• Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.


⛳️ Requirements

• Associate’s degree.

• Minimum of three years of experience in credentialing and/or process management and operations.

• Strong understanding of business and/or healthcare principles.

• Basic familiarity with medical terminology.

• Knowledge in the organization of medical staff.

• Comprehensive knowledge of credentialing procedures.

• Experience in interacting with physicians, allied health professionals, office credentialing representatives, and hospital personnel.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Sharp judgment in human relations.

• Capable of meeting deadlines in a multi-functional task environment.

• Outstanding organizational skills.

• Proficient in operational skills related to word processing, spreadsheets, data entry, fax machines, and other computer-related tasks.

• Ability to set daily work priorities and work efficiently.

• Capability to provide exceptional customer service.

• Remote work limited to candidates residing in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nebraska, Nevada, or Wyoming.

• Availability Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

• NCPCS certification is preferred.

• Additional related education and/or experience is preferred.
