This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Work collaboratively with project sponsors and stakeholder groups to define the scope of projects.
• Employ a pre-established parametric estimating tool to produce parametric estimates that align with AACE estimate class standards for substation and utility transmission projects based on the conceptual scope of work.
• Use current estimating templates to create assembly-level cost estimates for projects that are based on detailed scopes of work and 30-50% engineering design.
• Facilitate the identification of enhancements needed for the parametric estimating tool to present data in a more user-friendly format for future project scheduling and cost management.
• Leverage estimates versus actual cost comparisons from projects to refresh and update cost data within the parametric estimating tool.
• Revise existing cost data in the parametric estimating tool to aid in structuring the enterprise estimating system and collaborate with developers for its implementation.
• Enhance coordination of estimates to prevent duplication, improve ownership, and eliminate overlaps in the scope of estimates.
• Provide training for estimators on updated tools, particularly for contracted estimators, and assist in developing standard work instructions to standardize project scoping and estimating practices.
• Demonstrate the ability to use estimating software for generating cost estimates and to participate in the QAQC process.
• Maintain flexibility to attend client and company meetings as necessary.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in cost estimating, specifically in developing estimate packages for design and construction.
• Industry experience in estimating construction projects for energy utilities and/or above/below-grade civil estimating.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
• Well-versed in AACE Cost Engineering Practices and the TCM framework.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
