This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Engage in multiple projects, mainly focused on environmental remediation tasks.
• Able to swiftly grasp the Company's estimating systems and processes.
• Comprehend estimating terminology and metrics, recognizing processes and project actions that could influence the project.
• Conduct Environmental Remediation estimations using Sage Estimating Software and Microsoft Excel.
• Capable of overseeing the preparation of estimates and supporting the proposal team during the development of remediation technical strategies.
• Facilitate Project Team estimate reviews.
• Collaborate with project teams and management to formulate strategies and plans.
• Engage in analyzing and utilizing estimations to forecast critical project challenges.
• Clearly document assumptions for effective communication with the project team throughout the bidding process and work execution.
• Assist in assessing business opportunities and potential profitability.
• Understand and apply financial analysis and profitability metric calculations.
• Familiar with construction methods, sequences, and multiple disciplines.
• Supervise junior staff in task development, setting and maintaining goals and expectations, and documenting performance-related issues and successes.
• Identify and nurture talent.
• Actively engage in all staffing matters affecting their area of responsibility.
• Aid in tracking action items.
• Prepare or assist in creating ROIC and IRR forecasts.
• Work directly with subcontractors to address technical issues during proposals, negotiations, and contract execution.
• Prepare crew build-ups and determine production rates.
• Make decisions regarding construction equipment selection.
• Possess a solid understanding of planning and scheduling.
• Familiarity with the company's cost structure (overheads, G&A, insurances).
• Develop Work Breakdown Structures.
• Assess the appropriateness of scope and execution plans as a basis for estimates.
• Initiate the development of an Estimate Plan (approach, techniques, level of effort, cost, schedule), Basis of Estimate, and qualifications.
• Prepare bid tabulations in response to customer/Request for Proposal requirements.
• Collect, analyze, and archive project data.
• Develop historical documentation.
• Create comparisons of current project estimates with previous performance and market benchmark data.
• Assist in preparing information for Executive Review Committee presentations.
• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Administration in Business AND 6+ years of estimator-related experience (including environmental remediation) OR demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Must successfully pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; many projects/clients are security-sensitive.
• Due to the nature of the role, US Citizenship is mandatory.
• A valid U.S. Driver’s License is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and Sage Estimating Software.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Willingness to travel nationwide.
• Estimator with experience in preparing successful estimates for competed, large (>$10M), firm fixed-priced performance-based environmental remediation projects is highly preferred.
