This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
β’ The Cost Engineer Specialist will be tasked with developing technical variable and tooling costs for a designated set of components and systems utilizing activity-based costing methodologies, while working from BOM (Bill of Materials), drawings, and/or samples.
β’ Engineers will offer subject matter expertise to assist engineering and purchasing at operational levels as well as vehicle program leadership throughout all development phases.
β’ The engineer must possess the capability to analyze supplier quotes and reach consensus on suitable costs.
β’ Furthermore, the engineer should be able to collaborate with the team on Design to Cost initiatives, benchmarking, and direct material and tooling costs.
β’ Development of costing in support of Technical Estimation and/or Should Cost based on technical features, specifications, and Bill of Materials.
β’ Propose economic savings and optimization during vehicle milestones and the development of cost targets.
β’ Directly input design cost-saving proposals into the Opportunity Portfolio System.
β’ Actively support cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Vehicle Team, and Purchasing.
β’ Provide data-driven cost deltas for target and quote gap closure.
β’ Assist and support negotiations during Component RFQ, Change Notes, and vehicle milestones.
β’ Utilize Stellantis Methodology and cost database/calculators to develop and deliver cost analysis.
β’ Support Stellantis Benchmarking & Purchasing/Engineering Commodity Strategies.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, or Engineering along with 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
β’ Proficient level of English with the ability to work within a global team.
β’ Experience in design, release, or processing roles; or other credentials combined with relevant experience in developing variable and/or tooling costs for automotive components.
β’ Knowledge of automotive production methods and development processes in the vehicle sector, with a focus on injection manufacturing processes.
β’ Basic economic knowledge of automotive components (cost factors, cost analysis methods, etc.).
β’ Detail-oriented with the capacity to manage multiple programs and cost details simultaneously.
β’ Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with English as the official language for communication (both written and oral).
β’ Advanced English communication skills.
β’ Familiarity with manufacturing processes (Injection).
β’ Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
β’ Experience in activity-based costing or cost model development.
β’ Applicants must reside in Mexico and possess legal authorization to work in the country.
