This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Implement a thorough onboarding framework.
• Improve current procedures, requirements, and processes for onboarding correspondent banks on a global scale.
• Conduct the due diligence process for new countries, taking responsibility for identifying geo-specific risks, drafting country risk assessments, and developing rules and systems to detect and monitor these risks.
• Carry out the onboarding process for new correspondent bank partners in accordance with the established framework, policies, and procedures.
• Oversee the regular review process for partner banks.
• Facilitate ongoing monitoring:
• Collaborate with other Compliance and Risk stakeholders to refine and implement ongoing monitoring expectations for correspondent banking relationships, including periodic reviews, trigger events, and escalation criteria.
• Assist in business development discussions:
• Act as a partner to our Go-to-Market (GTM) team as they foster relationships and sell to potential banks.
• Aid our GTM in identifying suitable target customers.
• Inform prospective customers about the experience of working with Column and our risk and compliance teams.
• Assist in new product development:
• Work in close coordination with GTM and Business teams to facilitate product rollouts while addressing regional risks.
• Offer clear guidelines and discovery assistance to enhance customer engagement.
• Create and present customer-facing documentation, ensuring clarity and compliance (e.g., requirements for banking clients).
• 6-8+ years of experience in regulatory, compliance, or risk management with an emphasis on international financial activities. Previous experience in correspondent banking is preferred but not mandatory.
• Capability to develop and implement policies, procedures, and workflows.
• Strong understanding of underwriting geographic and political risks.
• Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to produce detailed, clear documentation for a varied range of stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt to new situations and swiftly resolve issues, focusing on designing scalable solutions.
• Highly organized approach to project management, including coordinating efforts across various teams; comfort in managing multiple projects and priorities is essential.
• Resourceful, hands-on attitude - our success stems from hard work, creativity, and a willingness to tackle challenges without ego.
• Willingness to travel frequently.
• If not located in San Francisco, a monthly trip in the first six months and five trips per year thereafter is expected.
• Significant international travel to clients and potential banking partners.
