This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Perform in-depth financial and business performance evaluations and valuation analyses for potential acquisition targets.
• Assist in formulating and advancing M&A strategies (sourcing, deal execution, and post-close integration) that are in line with the company's long-term objectives and broader M&A opportunities.
• Work closely with the Corporate Development team and senior leadership to pinpoint strategic opportunities and risks related to potential acquisitions.
• Contribute to the creation of comprehensive deal structures that satisfy strategic goals and financial benchmarks.
• Play a vital role in the due diligence process, ensuring a meticulous assessment of business, financial, legal, and operational elements.
• Utilize business and operational diligence processes to aid in the formulation of pre-close integration plans that guarantee smooth transitions post-acquisition, addressing critical operational, cultural, and financial factors.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to effectively and efficiently execute integration strategies.
• Assist in identifying and sourcing acquisition prospects across key Cherry Bekaert business segments, in conjunction with the Corporate Development team, segment business leaders, and executive leadership.
• Create customized discussion materials for various engagements with potential acquisition targets both pre- and post-LOI, encompassing prospecting, virtual and on-site diligence, and deal execution.
• Assist in the preparation and presentation of detailed reports and presentations for senior management and the board of directors.
• Over 3 years of substantial experience in corporate development, private equity, investment banking, or consulting with an emphasis on M&A.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Capacity to perform under pressure and manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Strong grasp of corporate finance, business data, valuation techniques, and financial statements.
• Proven expertise in project management and the ability to achieve results within specified deadlines.
• Capacity to play a key role in complex M&A transactions and successfully integrate acquired companies.
• Proficient in excel-based financial modeling, analytical skills, and strategic thinking.
• Familiarity with or interest in leveraging current AI tools to expedite financial analysis, modeling, and process automation/materials generation.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Capability to evaluate the financial health and potential of acquisition targets.
• Skills in strategic planning and aligning M&A initiatives with the company's long-term goals.
• Ability to identify and assess strategic growth opportunities through M&A.
• Competence in overseeing due diligence processes, ensuring thorough vetting of targets.
• Experience or interest in planning and supervising post-acquisition integration efforts to ensure seamless transitions and achieve synergies.
• Familiarity with or interest in organizational change management and integration best practices.
• Ability to cultivate a collaborative team environment and mentor team members.
• Superior communication skills, both written and oral, for presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
