Corporate Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Deliver business-oriented legal counsel to an expanding healthcare software firm, focusing on privacy, secure payment and billing practices, information security, intellectual property, and procurement.

• Offer guidance on a wide array of privacy and security regulations, including HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, and new state data privacy laws.

• Draft and review contracts to support Tebra’s business development, operations, products, and services.

• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to conduct legal evaluations of new software features, ensuring compliance by design.

• Proactively identify, mitigate, and manage legal and compliance risks associated with the business.

• Provide legal support and advice to ensure Tebra’s adherence to applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies and procedures.

• Oversee responses to (i) customer-related subpoena requests from governmental bodies and (ii) customer and patient inquiries regarding personal and health information.

• Manage escalations and disputes from customers and vendors to resolution.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience as in-house counsel for a software or technology company or with a national law firm.

• Ability to effectively collaborate with employees and managers across all levels within Tebra.

• Strong capability to balance legal risks with business goals in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

• Proven skills in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Experience in utilizing AI-driven legal tools to enhance productivity and manage high-volume contract reviews.

• Must possess a JD from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice in California (or eligible for Registered In-House Counsel status).

• Preferred experience with legal matters in the healthcare industry or SaaS sector.
