This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Accountable for expanding and maintaining relationships with a designated client group by managing all facets of the client relationship through the provision of value-added financial solutions.
• Formulates a business development strategy aimed at generating new business opportunities.
• Offers leadership and guidance to other credit personnel and promotes effective communication between customers and internal staff from application to closing.
• Orchestrates all client-facing activities related to their clients, including credit support and partnerships with other product areas.
• Oversees the evaluation and underwriting of credit requests, ensuring the appropriateness and satisfaction level of existing services provided.
• Responsible for driving revenue growth through the production of loans, deposits, fee income, and cross-selling all relevant bank services to the current customer base while identifying and targeting non-customers for bank services.
• Cultivates profitable new credit and non-credit business within the assigned territory.
• Develops a comprehensive understanding of all customers and potential prospects.
• Prepares and delivers credit proposals for both existing and new clients.
• Ensures that proposals are thorough, feasible, and that repayment sources are solid and well-documented.
• Responsible for reviewing relationships and overall relationship profitability.
• Collaborates with the Portfolio Manager, Credit Analysts, and other members of the Credit Department to underwrite credit requests.
• Guarantees proper reporting, documentation, and review processes to ascertain that a loan poses an acceptable risk.
• Continuously monitors customer performance, capabilities, and industry information to evaluate the acceptability of loan risks.
• Participates in community and/or industry-specific forums, conferences, and meetings to expand the relationship network and consistently enhance knowledge of trends and practices.
• Supports the Capital Markets businesses by evaluating whether securities products and capital markets services are appropriate for specific clients and collaborating with the Capital Markets teams to deliver those products and services.
• Undergraduate degree is required; a graduate degree is preferred.
• 8 to 10+ years of experience in Banking, Investment Banking, M&A, or Capital Markets.
• At least 3 years of experience at the Director level.
• Strong skills in corporate finance and credit.
• Demonstrated success in collaborating with a team to originate and close complex financial transactions.
• Proven capability to pitch, secure, and execute corporate finance ideas.
• Leadership experience and a history of making significant decisions in a growing financial services business.
• Exceptional presentation skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong skills in relationship building.
• Ability to effectively engage with senior executives inside and outside the organization.
• Expertise in one or more business sectors is advantageous.
• Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 79, and 63 licenses are required according to Fifth Third guidelines.
