Corporate Affairs Specialist – Regulatory

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Analyze and oversee the regulatory landscape in Brazil and internationally, pinpointing risks and opportunities pertinent to the business, with a specific emphasis on the tax immunity concept for books.

• Assist in formulating institutional legal arguments, including the legal documentation on tax immunity, in collaboration with internal legal teams and external advisors.

• Cultivate and manage relationships with local law firms in Brazil and gradually expand to international markets (LATAM and Europe).

• Draft legal opinions, analyses, and regulatory defense documents for internal stakeholders, the Board, and institutional discussions.

• Aid in the creation of the Publishing Sector Self-Regulation Manifesto, promoting initiatives to counteract piracy and tax evasion practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A law degree, with a keen interest in Tax, Constitutional, or Regulatory Law.

• Strong analytical skills to interpret intricate regulations and convey insights clearly and strategically.

• Experience or enthusiasm for environments that bridge legal teams and institutional/government relations.

• Proficiency in managing multiple vendors and external law firms with organizational skills and a clear sense of priorities.

• A collaborative mindset, with a readiness to work within a multidisciplinary team.

• Knowledge of the publishing industry, copyright law, or the constitutional tax immunity thesis for books (preferred).

• Familiarity with digital market regulations, technology, or telecommunications (preferred).

• Understanding of the European regulatory framework (GDPR, DSA, digital VAT) or Latin American regulations (preferred).
