β’ Create donor-oriented content for nonprofit and mission-driven organizations. This encompasses donation page text, fundraising emails, SMS appeals, year-end campaigns, GivingTuesday initiatives, monthly/recurring giving requests, matching gift promotions, and impactful landing pages centered around a mission.
β’ Develop paid media advertising copy across various platforms (Meta, Google, LinkedIn). This includes crafting headlines, descriptions, and creative text that encourages clicks, donations, and conversions.
β’ Generate landing page content based on briefs and wireframes, working in collaboration with designers to ensure that messaging aligns with the layout.
β’ Create conversion-driven copy for A/B testing. This may involve writing different headline options, CTA text, value proposition or ask-amount revisions, and messaging hierarchy tests, ensuring each variant corresponds to a specific hypothesis.
β’ Compose email and SMS content for lifecycle and donor journey campaigns (including welcome flows, abandoned cart or gift reminders, win-back/lapsed donor initiatives, promotional and appeal sends) while adhering to client brand voice guidelines.
β’ Revise low-performing copy based on testing results and analytics, identifying issues, and suggesting data-informed alternatives.
β’ Quickly adapt to new client brand voices, assimilating voice guides and existing copy to produce on-brand content from the first deliverable, balancing authenticity, trust, and urgency required in nonprofit communications.
β’ Collaborate closely with growth strategists.
β’ 2β4+ years of experience in conversion copywriting, direct-response writing, CRO copy, or performance marketing copy.
β’ Experience in writing for nonprofit or mission-driven organizations, such as donation optimization, fundraising appeals, donor communications, and impact messaging.
β’ A portfolio showcasing copy intended for testing, including paid advertisements, landing pages, headline variations, or email campaigns with clear strategic framing, ideally featuring nonprofit or fundraising content.
β’ Proficient in writing across multiple brand voices swiftly and accurately.
β’ Strong strategic insight. You grasp why copy converts, not merely what sounds appealing.
β’ Comfortable with high volume and speed. You can generate multiple variants rapidly without compromising quality or strategic thought.
β’ Excellent communication skills. You ask insightful questions regarding briefs, identify ambiguities early, and articulate your copy rationale to non-writers.
β’ Self-motivated and dependable. You effectively manage your time, consistently meet deadlines, and require minimal oversight.
β’ Proficiency in AI is a strict requirement, not an option. This role necessitates active, demonstrable use of AI tools in your daily tasks β and extends further. You will be expected to establish and manage brand-specific AI writing agents for team utilization at scale and to present concrete AI-integrated workflows and agent-building experience during the interview process.
β’ This position is classified as a 1099 independent contractor role.
β’ As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for managing your own tax withholdings.
β’ This engagement does not provide employee benefits (such as health insurance, paid time off, or retirement contributions).
