Copywriter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Compose participant emails and text messages (“Chase” messages) that guide participants towards the next steps in the program.

• Develop copy for live events, which includes crafting run-of-show scripts, slide content, and example chat messages.

• Conduct research on candidates, elections, and relevant issues for event video scripts, overseeing the editing and approval process.

• Create social media content, encompassing captions, posts, example comments, and direct messages.

• Generate copy for Rally, which includes sign-up forms, election explainers, and instructions for action.

• Build and maintain an FAQ bank with straightforward responses to common participant inquiries.

• Transform intricate policy and voting information into clear, engaging, action-oriented text.

• Modify existing templates and past materials to suit various audiences, formats, tones, and program occasions.

• Utilize Notion, Canva, Google Workspace, and Slack for collaboration and timely delivery of work.

• Assume additional responsibilities as program needs evolve.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in copywriting, preferably in organizing, advocacy, campaigns, nonprofits, or another mission-driven environment.

• Excellent writing and editing capabilities with keen attention to detail.

• Proficient in simplifying complex information to make it accessible and engaging.

• Skilled in adjusting tone and voice for different audiences, formats, and program contexts.

• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, dynamic environments while managing multiple deadline-oriented projects.

• Familiarity with Notion, Canva, Google Workspace, and Slack, or a quick ability to learn these tools.

• Access to a computer and reliable internet connection.

• Submission of 2–3 writing samples is required with the application.

• Flexible schedule, including availability for some evenings and weekends.

• Expected availability for a six-day workweek during the final period from October through Election Day.
