Controls Systems – Commissioning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the safe, efficient, and timely commissioning, trial operations, and acceptance testing of the GE Mark VIe control system for Combined Cycle Power Plants.

• Conduct pre-checks, system energization, and network verification to ensure seamless communication and full functionality among all devices and subsystems.

• Supervise and carry out loop checks, functional tests, and protection testing while adhering to strict documentation and operational log standards.

• Manage system turnovers throughout all phases — from installation to commissioning and final customer handover — ensuring complete compliance with procedures and documentation requirements.

• Diagnose complex hardware and software issues, assess control logic against engineering design documents, and execute modifications to HMI screens and alarm configurations.

• Foster a robust safety culture by implementing and enforcing EHS procedures, including risk assessments, safety inspections, and monitoring subcontractor compliance.

• Ensure all commissioning activities comply with site safety standards and regulatory requirements.

• Provide clear, actionable technical feedback and comprehensive site reports to engineering and project teams.

• Manage the inventory of commissioning test equipment, including inspection, usage tracking, and timely returns.

• Contribute to lessons-learned initiatives and continuous improvement programs within the commissioning organization.

• A Bachelor's degree in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Willingness and capability to travel for long-term field assignments (up to 100%) throughout the United States and internationally.
