This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the implementation of retrofit, upgrade, installation, testing, and commissioning tasks for plant controls and automation systems.
• Offer technical guidance and direction to craft labor during a power equipment outage.
• Provide technical leadership and site supervision during the startup, commissioning, and handover of controls projects.
• Diagnose and rectify issues related to field devices, instrumentation, control panels, PLCs, DCS systems, HMIs, and industrial networks.
• Assist with warranty services, customer callouts, and troubleshooting activities following startup.
• Collaborate with project managers, customers, suppliers, and internal teams to meet schedule, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction goals.
• Conduct site planning, scheduling, and field engineering tasks.
• Manage and support additional field resources as necessary.
• Timely prepare and finalize service reports, trip reports, timesheets, invoicing packages, and other essential documentation.
• Recognize opportunities for change orders and assist in the development of proposals for new business opportunities.
• Engage in factory acceptance tests as needed.
• Contribute to the development of control strategies, hardware/software configurations, HMI graphics, and network architectures when applicable.
• Liaise with GE Power Services, GE Industrial, and other GE Vernova divisions.
• Execute other responsibilities as assigned.
• A degree in Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution; or a High School Diploma / GED accompanied by a minimum of 6 years of relevant industry experience.
• At least 6 years of field engineering experience in power generation, industrial plant automation, GE Mark VIe, DCS, PLC, or similar environments.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot control and instrumentation systems from field devices to the control system and network layers.
• Strong customer orientation with exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Capability to work efficiently in a dynamic, geographically dispersed team setting.
• Familiarity with plant controls, instrumentation, electrical systems, and related industrial applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• A valid driver’s license and passport, or the ability to obtain them.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 60%.
