Controls Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and implement control systems, including the programming and commissioning of PLC code.

• Design graphical user interfaces.

• Validate or simulate code functionality prior to deployment and during on-site testing.

• Diagnose PLC code and electrical system issues during on-site commissioning.

• Assist with equipment and system testing to ensure project timelines are met.

• Collaborate with Electrical Engineering teams to establish electrical device specifications.

• Aid in the design of control network architectures.

• Analyze complex customer standards, specifications, and documentation to ascertain system requirements.

• Contribute to cost and resource assessments for intricate module development and commissioning tasks.

• Implement software quality processes through module, subsystem, and system-level testing procedures.

• Provide recommendations that boost productivity, lower costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the material handling or a similar industry, or three (3) years of relevant experience with a Master's degree.

• Proficiency in Rockwell Automation PLC programming (including GuardLogix) and Siemens TIA Portal programming (including Starter).

• Familiarity with Ethernet/IP network architecture.

• Ability to interpret electrical schematics along with a solid understanding of HMI programming.

• Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration with project management, engineering teams, installation crews, and external partners.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Willingness to travel up to 40% annually, including short-term assignments with 10/4 rotations as project needs dictate.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
