Controls & Deployment Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the planning of onsite implementation, encompassing scope, budget, schedule, and subcontracting, while integrating with the master project plan.

• Coordinate closely with both internal and external stakeholders, especially the supply chain, to manage implementation timelines and delivery schedules.

• Perform hardware inspections, quality control evaluations, and pre-deployment testing to identify and address issues prior to go-live.

• Prepare hardware environments for System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Performance Testing, actively engaging in all testing phases.

• Lead, manage, and mentor on-site contractor teams, establishing clear expectations and overseeing performance and quality assurance.

• Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC systems (Allen-Bradley/Studio 5000 and Siemens/TIA Portal) to support Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) deployments.

• Independently verify and troubleshoot I/O signals, wiring, signal flow, and integration of field devices.

• Assist with safety control systems and the integration of safety devices throughout projects, particularly focusing on SkyCube and vertical lift applications.

• Identify and resolve hardware, software, communication, and configuration issues during commissioning and field operations.

• Provide remote control support across multiple active sites at the same time.

• Diagnose and address hardware and control-related issues both remotely and on-site to minimize downtime and ensure optimal robot performance.

• Document issues, solutions, and best practices in a clear and organized manner, as well as develop training materials and implementation guides.

• Share insights on the latest advancements in AMR hardware and control technology to enhance Geek+'s competitive advantage.

• Create and deliver training sessions for customers, team members, and service partners.


⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in warehouse automation, manufacturing automation, or electrical/mechanical installation.

• Hands-on proficiency with PLC systems, specifically Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000) and/or Siemens (TIA Portal), is required.

• Capability to troubleshoot control systems, field devices, and automation architectures independently.

• Strong project coordination skills, able to manage implementations across client operations, IT teams, and site contractors.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Quick learner, comfortable adapting to new technologies and complex field challenges.

• Positive, proactive attitude with a genuine enthusiasm for problem-solving.

• Proficient in MS Office and online collaboration tools.

• Willingness to travel 80% of the time (client sites from Monday to Friday).
