Contract Writer – Children's Christian Book

Posted Jun 20

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and compose a parenting book centered on Christ, aimed at inspiring and equipping parents to guide their children towards Jesus.

• Conduct research, outline, and write a comprehensive manuscript (approximately 45,000–75,000 words).

• Work closely with the editorial team through several rounds of revisions.

• Ensure theological consistency with The Daily Grace Co.’s doctrinal beliefs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proposals lacking any of the essential components listed below will not be considered.

• Title and Subtitle

• Controlling Idea (1–2 sentences)

• One-Paragraph Summary: Provide a brief overview of the book’s purpose, scope, structure, and tone.

• Target Audience Description (One of the Most Important Sections): Specify who this book is intended for, their stage or season of life, the specific struggles, questions, or longings they are facing, and why this book is relevant to them now. Note: Specificity is crucial; broad terms like “Christian women” or “believers” are inadequate.

• Comparable Titles (2–3 from the Past 5 Years): Identify 2–3 similar books published within the last five years and detail: how your book aligns with each, and how it is distinct in terms of approach, audience, tone, or theological focus.

• Author Bio: Describe what uniquely positions you to write this book, including your education, ministry, counseling, academic, or professional experiences, subject-matter expertise, relevant personal experiences (if appropriate), and any previous publishing or writing history.

• Detailed Chapter Outline: Provide a working table of contents that lists chapter titles along with the main idea of each chapter and how it supports the book's controlling idea.

• Front and Back Matter (Optional): Describe any supplementary materials (e.g., photography, illustrations, reflection questions, discussion guides, recommended resources, liturgies, appendices, etc.).

• Timeline and Specifications: Include your current manuscript status (idea stage, in progress, complete, etc.), estimated total word count (typically 45,000–75,000 words), and anticipated manuscript delivery date.

• Other Book Ideas (Optional): If you have additional book concepts that may suit The Daily Grace Co., please provide a brief description of each idea (1–3 sentences per concept). While these ideas will not be reviewed as part of the current proposal, they may be considered for future publishing opportunities.

• Sample Material: The complete introduction of the book and two fully written sample chapters that are representative of the final manuscript.

🏝️ Benefits

• Participation in meetings, workshops, or collaborative sessions may be requested based on the project timeline.
