This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Prepares, reviews, negotiates, and finalizes agreements with study sites following local and accepted procedures.
• Conducts negotiations within approved parameters regarding investigator grant budget negotiation criteria, contractual terms, and conditions in line with company and client contractual considerations, along with established processes and escalation routes.
• Ensures adherence to established negotiation parameters, authority approvals, contractual processes, and client expectations.
• Guarantees compliance with budgetary guidelines, templates, and processes.
• Identifies and evaluates legal, financial, and operational risks, escalating them to the appropriate organizational level according to established procedures.
• Offers recommendations and alternative solutions for Investigator Contracts negotiations through the appropriate escalation channels.
• Collaborates with internal functional departments to guarantee that various site startup activities are synchronized with contractual obligations and agreed timelines; ensures that the contract negotiation process for sites and studies aligns with the critical path for site activation.
• Meets target cycle times for site activations.
• Ensures that guidelines and processes are adhered to for the efficient escalation of issues that fall outside established parameters as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.
• Previous experience that equips the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the role effectively (typically 2-5 years). In certain instances, a combination of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience may satisfy the role's requirements.
• Solid understanding of contract law principles, including general knowledge of laws influencing contract language, such as business, intellectual property, and local tax and stamp regulations.
• Proven capability to apply fundamental principles of investigator grant negotiation.
• General awareness of business and financial principles related to service agreements.
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) in English and the local language.
• Competent, with appropriate oversight, in drafting and negotiating contract provisions and budgetary issues within established parameters.
• Demonstrated attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
• Familiarity with the pharmaceutical product development process and the role of CROs.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Working knowledge of PPD SOP & WPDs.
• Capable of logically organizing competing priorities and reviewing outstanding contractual risks and issues.
• Proficient in utilizing automated systems and computerized applications.
• Ability to exhibit a customer-focused communication style, problem-solving skills, and collaborative approach.
• Capability to work in an upright and/or stationary position for 6-8 hours daily.
• Repetitive hand movements with both hands, allowing for fast, simple, repeated motions of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
• Frequent mobility is required.
• Occasional crouching and stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of the upper body and neck.
• Light to moderate lifting and carrying of objects, including luggage and laptop computers, with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.
• Ability to access and utilize a variety of software, both in-house developed and off-the-shelf.
• Ability to convey information and ideas clearly so that others can understand; also capable of listening to and comprehending information and ideas presented verbally.
• Regularly interacts with others to gather or relay information to diverse groups.
• Performs a wide range of variable tasks dictated by changing demands and conditions, with little predictability regarding occurrence. Ability to work under stress and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Regular and consistent attendance is required.
