• Conceptualize, model, texture, and refine high-quality 3D characters for gaming and animated projects.
• Collaborate with the Art Director to create characters that align with the established visual style and tone.
• Develop detailed character sheets, breakdowns, and reference materials for both internal and external teams.
• Work alongside riggers and animators to ensure characters meet deformation and performance specifications.
• Rapidly iterate on designs based on feedback from leads and creative directors.
• Ensure consistency across the character roster within a project.
• Assist in the development and documentation of character art pipelines and best practices.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a character artist in the fields of games, film, or animation.
• A robust portfolio showcasing stylized and/or creature character artistry.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software: ZBrush, Maya or Blender, and Substance Painter.
• Strong grasp of anatomy, form, silhouette, and color theory.
• Familiarity with real-time game art pipelines, including polycount restrictions, LODs, and texture atlasing.
• Capability to provide and accept constructive feedback within a collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced indie setting.
