Contents Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Manage losses and claims for property and casualty insurance providers

• Review insurance policies and associated documentation to assess coverage

• Conduct interviews, phone calls, and correspondence with claimants and witnesses

• Consult with police and hospital records

• Evaluate property damage to ascertain the extent of the company’s liability

• Calculate repair, replacement, or compensation costs

• Generate findings reports and negotiate settlements with claimants

• Advise on litigation through the legal department when settlements cannot be reached

• Participate in litigation hearings

• Update case reserves in assigned claims files to account for expected costs

• Assist in creating loss experience reports to evaluate profitability and establish appropriate future rates

• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Contribute to the organization's quality initiatives

• Travel as necessary

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred

• Must obtain IIA-AIC designation within 12 to 18 months

• Required to have the appropriate state adjuster license

• No prior experience necessary

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation abilities

• Proficient in PC use, including Microsoft Office applications

• Proven commitment to prompt reporting

• Strong customer service abilities

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Effective time management and organizational skills

• Capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team

• Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies

• Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods

• Must be able to kneel, squat, or bend

• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Capable of climbing, crawling, stooping, kneeling, and reaching overhead

• Able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds

• Able to push or pull up to 100 pounds

• Able to drive for up to 4 hours each day

• Continuous use of manual dexterity is required
