This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create, edit, and refine content across various platforms, including website text, blog articles, member newsletters, social media, email campaigns, and marketing materials.
• Develop communications aimed at members that clarify benefits, care programs, and health plan features using straightforward, accessible language.
• Generate content targeted at providers and brokers that clearly conveys Harbor Health's value proposition as both a payvider and ACO partner.
• Work alongside clinical and operations teams to accurately depict Harbor's care model, HEDIS initiatives, and population health programs.
• Convert regulatory and compliance-driven content (such as CMS/TDI requirements) into formats that are friendly for members, including EOBs, plan documents, and FAQs.
• Uphold and evolve Harbor's brand voice and editorial guidelines across all content types.
• Contribute to the SEO strategy by creating optimized content that boosts organic traffic and member engagement.
• Oversee multiple content projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Collaborate with the Creative Director and design team to ensure that content and visual elements are unified and on-brand.
• Monitor content performance metrics and integrate insights to continually enhance effectiveness.
• Assist in developing a content library and knowledge base for both internal and external use.
• Over 5 years of professional writing experience, with a portfolio showcasing a variety of formats (digital, long-form, and/or marketing copy).
• Experience in writing within the healthcare, health insurance, or health-tech sectors.
• Strong understanding of plain-language writing principles for consumer audiences.
• Capability to simplify complex, technical, or regulatory information into clear and engaging content.
• Exceptional editing and proofreading abilities; keen attention to detail.
• Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously and adapting swiftly in a startup setting.
• Knowledgeable in content management systems and digital publishing tools.
• Familiarity with value-based care, ACO structures, Medicaid/Medicare, or managed care concepts (preferred).
• Experience writing for both B2C (member) and B2B (provider, broker) audiences within the same organization (preferred).
• Understand SEO best practices and content performance measurement (preferred).
• Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, HubSpot, or similar (preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field (preferred, not mandatory).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish — a significant advantage given Harbor's Texas member demographic (preferred).
• Background in startup or early-stage healthcare organizations (preferred).
