Content Engineer, Editorial

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the content lifecycle for Packt’s technical learning products from inception through publication and beyond.

• Ensure the quality of manuscripts, which includes product information, positioning, opportunities for derived content, and improvements throughout the lifecycle.

• Collaborate with external technology authors and content experts, as well as internal Relationship Leads and Growth Leads.

• Assess proposals and outlines with an emphasis on audience engagement and competitive differentiation.

• Conduct substantive edits to enhance structure, clarity, flow, and educational outcomes.

• Enhance discoverability and title performance by managing Product Information, metadata, and Amazon A+ pages.

• Maintain relationships with authors and experts to guarantee productive results.

• Actively research technologies and industry trends to ensure product relevance.

• Utilize AI and workflow tools to boost speed, quality, and consistency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in editorial/content development for technical or instructional products.

• Demonstrated ability to convert complex technical concepts into well-structured, reader-friendly content.

• Strong skills in author/SME management and providing constructive feedback.

• Excellent proficiency in the English language along with sound editorial judgment.

• Quality assurance mindset; comfortable making decisions regarding readiness, necessary revisions, or cancellation.

• Eagerness to take ownership and drive the success of content beyond editing, including enhancements across multiple formats and derived formats.
