This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Select, edit, and prepare technical site content for publication on DZone.

• Investigate trends in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and keep current with the latest innovations to assist in article planning, content strategies, newsletters, and community efforts.

• Daily refresh site pages with new content and ensure that published material is timely, relevant, and adheres to editorial standards.

• Monitor support and editorial inboxes, respond to inquiries, delete spam, and escalate issues to the appropriate departments.

• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to propose site articles, community content, and other editorial material to be highlighted in newsletters.

• Build and nurture relationships with contributors, authors, and community members.

• Support community-oriented editorial initiatives, contributor engagement, and other programs that enhance the DZone audience.

• Assist with additional team projects and initiatives as required.

• Recommend contributors for relevant Commercial Content opportunities and lead outreach efforts.

• Oversee contributor-driven Commercial Content projects from initiation to completion.

• Vet, commission, onboard, and coordinate with contributors throughout the project lifecycle.

• Prepare and distribute materials for contributors, including project briefs, authorship templates, launch emails, and related communications.

• Manage editorial reviews and provide clear feedback to contributors; review outlines and drafts to ensure content aligns with project goals, audience needs, and editorial expectations.

• Track contributor outreach, project status, deadlines, revisions, and completion details in the appropriate systems.

• Maintain contributor records, project documentation, content versions, and related files in the designated storage locations.

• Coordinate project closeout, including final approvals and contributor offboarding processes.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in technical editing for web channels or prior experience with a publishing company, preferably in the technology sector.

• A degree in English, Technical Writing, Publishing, or a related discipline.

• A degree in or experience with software engineering, software development, or another technical area is preferred.

• Basic knowledge of HTML is advantageous.

• Exceptional copyediting and proofreading abilities, with a strong grasp of American English spelling, grammar, punctuation, and style.

• Strong research capabilities, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine interest in software development topics, emerging technologies, and developer communities.

• Sound editorial judgment, including the ability to assess structure, clarity, accuracy, tone, and audience suitability.

• Initiative to research unfamiliar technical concepts and find the best ways to explain them clearly.

• Comfort in engaging with experienced software professionals, contributors, authors, and subject matter experts.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the capacity to provide constructive feedback and keep stakeholders informed.

• Excellent organizational skills and time management, with the ability to juggle multiple projects, deadlines, contributors, and communication threads.

• Reliability while working independently, including the ability to follow through on tasks and meet critical deadlines.

• A collaborative, adaptable working style that aligns well with cross-functional teams and shifting priorities.

• Must possess a working laptop/PC, internet access, and a backup connection.

• An agile professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at pivoting strategies to meet business needs effectively.
