This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Identify and assess trees and brush along utility lines.
• Create maps of circuits utilizing client continuity lists.
• Patrol and examine distribution and transmission circuits.
• Input tree-trimming and removal prescriptions into handheld devices and software applications.
• Inform property owners about upcoming vegetation management activities.
• Issue work orders and monitor progress.
• Conduct investigations during outages.
• Address access issues for line-clearance crews.
• Lead efforts for storm restoration and special projects.
• Participate in helicopter patrols for vegetation observation when requested.
• Review tree-trimming and removal work to ensure compliance.
• Assess the need for additional tree trimming.
• Complete and submit post-audit documentation.
• Conduct training sessions, safety audits, productivity assessments, quality assurance, and quality control evaluations.
• Acquire necessary permits and document all work performed.
• Fulfill emergency-response responsibilities as needed.
• Act as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and customer representatives.
• Maintain positive relationships with client personnel and government entities.
• Engage in public presentations and meetings as necessary.
• Associate degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, Biology, or a related discipline, or a high school diploma/GED with 5 years of relevant experience in place of the diploma/GED.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in utility vegetation management.
• ISA Utility Specialist Credential is mandatory.
• A state-issued pesticide license is required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
• Capability to learn and utilize company or job-specific software systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) or a comparable software suite.
• Ability to recognize local trees and understand their growth rates.
• Capacity to work in challenging terrain and adverse weather conditions.
• Competence in driving and operating a 4x4 vehicle.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong critical-thinking and judgment skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of FAC-003.
• Knowledge of project management principles.
• Drug testing is a requirement.
