Consulting Pre-Sales Systems Engineer, Data Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a technical consultant and reliable partner for enterprise clients, prospects, and channel partners throughout the sales journey.

• Serve as a mentor and role model for fellow Systems Engineers while providing technical guidance in collaboration with sales engineering leadership.

• Facilitate technical discovery sessions to gain insights into customer environments, business motivations, security issues, compliance needs, and decision-making processes.

• Design and present engaging product demonstrations, workshops, executive briefings, and presentations customized to customer scenarios.

• Plan, implement, and oversee Proof of Concept (POC) initiatives, ensuring effective technical validation, measurable business benefits, and customer engagement.

• Work closely with Account Executives, Account Managers, specialists, and channel partners to formulate technical sales strategies and assist in complex enterprise sales processes.

• Convert customer needs into scalable solution proposals, including deployment sizing, architectural advice, and business-aligned results.

• Link technology solutions to quantifiable customer business results, such as technical validation, competitive positioning, and total cost of ownership considerations.

• Enhance sales strategy and take ownership of technical responsibilities in strategic and intricate opportunities.

• Contribute significantly to, or lead, responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.

• Provide partner enablement and technical training for resellers, integrators, and strategic alliances.

• Represent the company at client meetings, industry events, conferences, webinars, trade shows, and executive briefing center engagements.

• Collaborate with Product Management, R&D, and Marketing teams to relay customer feedback, requests for product improvements, interoperability opportunities, and market needs.

• Coordinate with product and technical marketing to create white papers, web presentations, blogs, social media posts, and other content supporting overall go-to-market strategies and goals.

• Maintain a strong awareness of market trends, competitive technologies, and evolving industry landscapes to ensure distinct solution positioning and promote thought leadership within and outside the organization.

• Identify opportunities for interoperability, functional, and performance testing and validation, fostering roadmap and planning discussions among internal and external stakeholders.

• Serve as the technical solution authority in complex evaluations involving storage, infrastructure, security, and cloud-related architectures.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, and/or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 8 years of relevant experience in pre-sales, sales engineering, solutions architecture, or similar customer-facing technical roles.

• Proven experience in supporting enterprise sales of cybersecurity, storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software solutions to enterprise clients.

• Proficiency in leading technical sales efforts encompassing discovery, solution design, demonstrations, proof-of-concept execution, and technical validation.

• In-depth understanding of enterprise architecture, design, and implementation across multi-tiered client/server, distributed, web-based, cloud, and hybrid computing solutions.

• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, data protection, governance, privacy, risk management, and security operations concepts.

• Solid understanding of current and emerging storage and infrastructure architectures, including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN, virtualization, and distributed environments.

• Experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and VMware.

• Familiarity with Linux, NFS file systems, distributed network environments, and general systems architecture.

• Comprehensive knowledge of networking and infrastructure, including Ethernet, TCP/IP, and local area networking.

• Awareness of modern web and cloud-native architectures, including LAMP stack, scale-out vs. scale-up, microservices, containers, and Kubernetes.

• Experience with scripting and automation technologies, including Python.

• Ability to articulate and explain complex technical architectures to both technical and executive audiences.
