This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The consultant will create and execute national-level case studies that illustrate the conversion of atmospheric methane measurements into greenhouse gas inventories.
• Knowledge of national greenhouse gas inventories and IPCC inventory methodologies.
• Comprehensive understanding of the UNFCCC transparency framework, encompassing Biennial Transparency Reports, Nationally Determined Contributions, National Inventory Reports, and the Global Stocktake.
• Familiarity with atmospheric methane observations, atmospheric inversion modeling, and/or emissions verification.
• Experience in methane emissions accounting within one or more sectors, such as energy, agriculture, waste, wetlands, or other natural systems.
• Proven experience collaborating with government agencies, inventory compilers, UN organizations, or international climate initiatives.
• This position is structured as an independent contractor role (1099), rather than an employee position, and does not provide employee benefits such as health insurance, retirement contributions, or paid leave.
