Construction Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Accountable for generating cost estimates, overseeing budgets, performing cost analyses, and assisting with procurement and contract management throughout the project lifecycle.

• Operate independently on daily responsibilities while collaborating with the project team as necessary.

• Provide precise reports and updates on a regular basis.

• Concentrate primarily on comprehensive cost estimations, with an 80% focus on detailed estimations (AACE Class 3 and 2) and 20% on preliminary stages (AACE Class 5 and 4).

• Execute analyses to assess materials, machinery, equipment, and labor costs for construction initiatives.

• Create bills of quantities for construction tasks.

• Develop cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.

• Formulate detailed construction schedules for various projects.

• Evaluate and scrutinize proposals from contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.

• Prepare and present progress reports and variations to stakeholders.

• Provide quotes for materials, machinery, equipment, labor, and services.

• Address any disputes related to costs or contracts.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in estimation, quantity surveying, civil engineering, architecture, or a related discipline.

• Demonstrated experience as an estimator in construction projects (6+ years).

• Proven track record as an estimator in high-end hospitality or residential projects (3+ years).

• Established experience in estimating budgets for construction projects exceeding $20M USD.

• Proficient in relevant software applications (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, Revit, AutoCAD).

• Established network of industry connections and relationships with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
