This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Facilitate ongoing communication between senior Army leadership and members of the Congressional Army Caucus.
• Monitor and document all congressional interactions, office visits, and strategic engagements.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate strategic communications, which include information papers, talking points, executive summaries, and correspondence directed to Caucus Members and their staff.
• Observe congressional committee activities, floor debates, hearings, and legislative markups.
• Analyze the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process, focusing on how the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and defense appropriations affect Army posture, modernization, and readiness.
• Compile detailed read-ahead packets and briefing materials for Army leadership before meetings with Caucus Co-Chairs and broader members, ensuring accurate representation of budgetary impacts and Unfunded Requirements (UFRs).
• Organize, coordinate, and execute all logistical aspects for Caucus-sponsored events, breakfasts, receptions, and exhibitions on Capitol Hill.
• Manage venue reservations, security arrangements, and catering logistics.
• Supervise internal administrative tasks using standard DoD task management tools (e.g., TMT).
• Ensure timely staffing, routing, and resolution of congressional inquiries and internal actions.
• Maintain the office's digital archives, rosters, and stakeholder databases.
• Ensure that all historical records, event After Action Reports (AARs), and standard operating procedures are current and easily accessible.
• Support operational planning for Congressional Delegations (CODELs) and Staff Delegations (STAFFDELs).
• Coordinate itinerary specifics, transportation logistics, and base access with relevant installation commanders.
• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in legislative affairs, congressional staff positions, or Department of Defense (DoD) operational roles.
• Proven understanding of the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process.
• Knowledge of the congressional budget cycle, Program Objective Memorandum (POM) development, and defense appropriations.
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with DoD staff routing systems.
• Strong capabilities in analytical writing and oral presentations.
• Proven ability to manage multiple high-visibility events, administrative tasks, and legislative analysis simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
