Compliance, Threat & Risk Assessment Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee compliance risk assessments across the enterprise, including the identification of inherent risks, evaluation of controls, determination of residual risks, and articulation of key findings and themes related to risk.

• Collaborate with MLROs, CCOs, and cross-functional teams throughout Coinbase’s legal entities to achieve globally coordinated and locally relevant outcomes for risk assessments.

• Generate risk assessment reports, executive summaries, and governance documentation for senior leadership, risk forums, and regulatory stakeholders.

• Lead assessments of transaction monitoring and customer risk scoring coverage, and manage updates to geographic risk ratings to ensure they are current, risk-based, and actionable from an operational standpoint.

• Create a framework for compliance threat assessments, encompassing governance, methodology, documentation standards, and ongoing upkeep.

• Innovate with AI-driven automation to enhance assessment workflows, showcasing advanced AI proficiency while ensuring strict human oversight and judgment.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in compliance, financial crimes, or operational risk assessment within a regulated financial institution, fintech, or consulting environment.

• Proven track record of independently leading extensive risk assessments, influencing senior stakeholders, and achieving cross-functional results in complex and ambiguous situations.

• Extensive knowledge in AML/CFT, sanctions, transaction monitoring, customer risk scoring, geographic risk assessment, and compliance risk management frameworks.

• Experience in designing threat assessment frameworks, conducting TM/CRS coverage assessments, and managing geographic risk rating reviews across multiple entities or jurisdictions.

• Demonstrated ability to create high-quality written communications, perform data analysis, and prepare governance materials; proficient in Excel, SQL, and AI technologies.

• A crypto-forward perspective with an understanding of crypto products, services, and the evolving risks within the ecosystem.

• Responsible utilization of generative AI, maintaining human oversight to produce business-ready outputs and achieve measurable enhancements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
