This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Compliance Specialist is responsible for managing the due diligence and risk management tasks necessary to ensure that carriers utilized by WWEX Group adhere to compliance standards.
• Assess motor carrier data to evaluate if carriers seeking to onboard with WWEX Group satisfy the company's carrier qualification criteria.
• Implement the company’s High Value/High Risk Compliance Policy to mitigate cargo theft risks.
• Deliver comprehensive and clear feedback to various stakeholders, including company personnel and agents.
• Leverage motor carrier monitoring services, government databases, and other resources during the due diligence process to identify and evaluate carriers that present an excessive risk to WWEX Group; take measures to mitigate that risk.
• Keep precise background information on carriers and ensure appropriate record-keeping in WWEX Group's operating systems; authenticate documents such as insurance certificates.
• Accurately update the company’s load management software systems.
• Respond promptly to and escalate other carrier inquiries received from carrier sales representatives and WWEX Group agents and franchisees.
• Foster strong ethical standards in daily operations and among team members.
• Collaborate with both internal and external parties to determine the appropriate actions when issues arise in business relationships with carriers.
• Work with upper management to identify inefficiencies and create effective policies and procedures.
• Review, analyze, and report on various legal issues and regulations relevant to WWEX Group's operations.
• Embrace opportunities to take on new activities that align broadly with the role's purpose.
• Participate in special projects as they emerge.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• In the absence of a degree, a combination of education and relevant years of experience will be considered.
• Preferred: 1-2 years of experience in a compliance role.
• Related legal/compliance experience or a background in logistics and/or the trucking industry is preferred.
• High attention to detail is essential.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and possess strong internet browsing and search capabilities.
• Strong adherence to business ethics.
• Ability to conform to and advocate the company’s standards of conduct.
• Capability to communicate effectively through various methods such as phone, email, messaging, and face-to-face interactions.
• Demonstrated personal initiative: actively seeks to learn and improve, looking for ways to enhance both personal and company performance.
• Ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated and diligent.
