Compliance Officer – USPI Western Territory

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the main compliance resource for designated facilities and regional leadership teams.

• Offer guidance on regulatory, compliance, ethics, and privacy issues while uncovering practical solutions that align with organizational goals.

• Cultivate a culture of ethical decision-making, accountability, and compliance across the region.

• Establish trusted relationships with administrators, CEOs, physicians, and facility leaders to enhance effective compliance oversight.

• Ensure the continuous implementation of Tenet's Ethics, Compliance, and Privacy Program within designated facilities.

• Confirm compliance with the Quality, Compliance, and Ethics Charter as well as relevant federal and state healthcare regulations.

• Lead regional compliance initiatives, work plans, monitoring activities, and risk mitigation strategies.

• Execute approved monitoring and reporting processes aimed at identifying and preventing compliance issues.

• Facilitate the delivery of compliance, ethics, privacy, and security training programs for employees, contractors, and physicians.

• Raise awareness of regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and ethical business practices.

• Foster a robust speak-up culture where concerns can be reported without fear of retaliation.

• Collaborate with leadership and subject matter experts to identify, evaluate, and mitigate compliance risks.

• Assist with auditing, monitoring, investigations, and various compliance oversight activities.

• Oversee corrective action plans and ensure prompt follow-up and sustainable resolution of identified issues.

• Work together with facility and corporate stakeholders to address audit findings and compliance opportunities.

• Lead and engage in Compliance Committee and Board meetings, presenting on compliance trends, risks, and mitigation strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.

• At least 3–5 years of progressive experience in healthcare compliance.

• Experience in supporting compliance, auditing, legal, privacy, regulatory, clinical, or healthcare operations roles in a multifaceted company.

• Proven understanding of federal healthcare program requirements and best practices in healthcare compliance.

• Experience in a large, complex healthcare organization is preferred.

• Compliance certification (CHC, CHPC, CHRC, or similar) is preferred.

• Experience presenting to executive leadership, governing boards, or compliance committees is preferred.

• Experience overseeing compliance across multiple facilities in various regions/states is preferred.

• A self-driven, results-oriented individual with high personal and professional integrity.

• Excellent executive-level communication skills in both oral and written formats.

• A collaborative team player who listens well and values others' input positively.

• Accepts accountability and can work both independently and as part of a team.

• Innovative with a good sense of humor.
